The Kings Arms restaurant offers award-winning dining in the heart of Christchurch, Dorset. Chef Patron, Alex Aitken, heads up the food with menus that showcase the very best local and seasonal produce; including the popular ‘Market Menu’, with ingredients sourced within a 15 mile radius, the extensive a la carte menu and Friday ‘Fizz n Chips’.

The Kings Arms is delighted to retain a prestigious Bib Gourmand in the 2015 edition of the Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland. The only restaurant in Dorset to have been awarded for three consecutive years, the Bib Gourmand denotes a restaurant offering exceptional food, with good service and value for money. Inclusion in the Guide is synonymous with quality and is internationally recognised as the benchmark for integrity in the cuisine and value to the guest.

With a relaxed ambience and delicious food, the chefs make use of the very best local ingredients, caught, grown or prepared close to Christchurch, from the New Forest and the waters of the south coast. The wine list offers an eclectic and interesting selection, many by the glass, and the Gin O’Clock and cocktail menus are extensive.

Beaulieu Organics, on the Beaulieu estate great local and organic meats fruit and vegetables.

Ferndene Farm Shop New Milton have a great range of meats fruit and veg. Not all organic but Ian makes sure of very high quality and traditional butchery.

Meadowbrook Produce, Alex and Caroline’s own smallholding selects wild and local foods for Kings Arms and The Jetty. Also rears sheep, pigs, cows and chickens.

Noah’s Ark Chickens and eggs, based in New Milton fantastic chickens. And you don’t have to buy them two by two!

Sopley Farm Asparagus – Fantastic asparagus from 4 minutes up the road. Also a great ‘pick your own’ in season.

Dan Tanners fruit and veg, Dan is a great friend and has the above Sopley farm also close to Meadowbrook, Dan has some amazing Cathedral Glass houses.

Lyburn Cheese at No Mans Land, Landford – fantastic cheeses.

Rosary Goats Cheese West Wellow on the edge of The New Forest.

Dorset Charcuterie Lychett Matravers is right on the limit (actually just over) but great smoked trout cured meats. Lee is curing Meadowbrook Pork for us to use.

Pete Dadds, Fisherman – Lobsters and Crabs from Mudeford.

Andy Jones, Fisherman –  wet fish; Plaice, Dabs Soles, Whiting and Pollack landed at Mudeford Quay for The Jetty and now The Kings Arms.

Jamie Russell – Mackerel fishing trips for the boys in the kitchen and excess catches find their way to our kitchens.

If you’re looking for somewhere special to hold your birthday celebration, engagement party, christening party or other special event, look no further – The Kings Arms can cater for functions of all sizes.

With an award-winning restaurant, The Kings Arms provides a variety of menu options to choose from. Whether it’s a simple supper or a special dinner, dining in either the restaurant or one of the private dining rooms, the team will create a truly bespoke menu and experience.

We can help with decorations, menus and table plans, and whether you’re planning an elegant dinner and dance, a surprise birthday party, with a jazz band and a relaxed buffet-style spread, or an office party with a disco, each event can be tailored  to suit your exact requirements.

We offer private functions and parties from just £15.00 per person.

At The Kings Arms, we feature a range of exclusive spaces for you to host private dining events. The Private Dining area can seat up to 36 people, and is popular for smaller, intimate gatherings, while The Kings Pavilion and Kings Priory can seat up to 96 people.

We also have a fantastic outdoor space opposite the hotel, with our very own bowling green; perfect for BBQs of all sizes, allowing for up to 120 guests.
